This is a book showcasing a collection of heavy metal band logos all designed by Christophe Szpajdel. This might not be a beloved topic among clean designers but there's no denying the quality of the meticulous details shaping Szpajdel's work. He even states Art Nouveau, the geometry of Art Deco and the cult of nature to be his main influence. Roots, tree branches and insects inspire a complex and organic form and defining identity of the underground metal scene. You can get the book here and read here a nice interview with the designer.
Confesso que não é o género de logótipo, 'metal' ou 'gótico', ou lá o que queiram chamar, que me atrai. Mas esta ligação à natureza como sendo aquela que dá inspiração e origem, está muito bem conseguido. E pela composição e apresentação eu gostei muito. Gosto particularmente daqueles que se inspiram nos espinhos e ramos de árvores.
