Music for 2012 - Part 2

Time for some new things to listen to. As usual click on the album covers to try out a selected song.

The Money Store
by Death Grips
6.9/10
I read a statement somewhere about the state of music of nowadays, saying that hip hop is one of the few genres where any innovation is actually happening. I'd say Death Grips fit into that category. I've seen footage.

Celebration Rock
by Japandroids
7/10
Listen to this, for the love of Ivy! (Nah, it's alright, the debut was better. But on this one they cover The Gun Club! And that's worth checking out.)

Electra Heart
by Marina and the Diamonds
3.8/10
Disappointment of the year (and it's only halfway through). I was seriously shocked by a few things I heard on this sophomore album. But no wonder, this time she worked with writers and producers who have previously turned out hits for Ronan Keating, Katy Perry and Britney Spears. Let's hope she'll go back to being clever and peculiar on the next one, instead of playing around with generic alter-egos. I'll keep listening to The Family Jewels, thank you.

The Idler Wheel...
by Fiona Apple
7.6/10
Complete album title: The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do. Fiona Apple is back and blessing us with some fresh and strong tunes. Enjoy!

Other things to look into are Confess by Twin Shadow, Worship by A Place To Bury strangers, Cancer 4 Cure by El-P and Synthetica by Metric. But here's the complete list.
